We’re proud of the work we do for our patients in the Southern Oregon and Northern California regions, and it shows from testimonials left on our website.
The best solution for me and I am still excited about that.
My feet are the beginning and end point to daily living, dancing, hiking, everything. I inherited bunions and have had plantar fasciitis, making everything I enjoy increasingly difficult. Thinking about surgery and down time was a struggle for the last 3 years, until I couldn’t do anything for more than 30 minutes. Southern Oregon Foot and Ankle staff worked with me, my insurance, my concerns until I was ready. I am so grateful.
I highly recommend the warm, welcoming, reassuring front office staff who have made everything just easy. I highly recommend Dr Evan Merrill and his back office staff who have taken my fears, questions, and turned everything into solution. The best solution for me and I am still excited about that.
the pain was gone.
After the first couple of treatments the pain subsided by 50%. After the last three treatments the pain was gone.
I really feel important and valued here.
Thank you so much, Dr. Merrill, for your compassion and good support. Also, I thank all the staff here at Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle. I really feel important and valued here.
Thank you, God bless all here.
I am so thankful for Dr. Merrill’s excellent surgical skills.
I was referred to Dr. Merrill by a past patient. Rheumatoid Arthritis had deformed my left foot to the point of not being able to wear shoes comfortably, causing pain with every step, and took away from my active lifestyle. Dr. Merrill patiently explained the complicated surgery to restore my foot, answered all of my questions and concerns, and even provided the name of a former patient who shared her success story. Dr. Merrill and his great staff of nurses gave me the confidence to move forward with the complicated surgery and on January 5, 2018, every toe was moved back into position successfully. I am so thankful for Dr. Merrill’s excellent surgical skills and am so happy to be back in my regular shoes, pain-free and active again. Many Happy Trails to those who choose Dr. Merrill for their foot and ankle doctor!!
I came in today not being able to walk on my right foot. I left walking normal and not in pain.
I came in today not being able to walk on my right foot. I left walking normal and not in pain. As I sat in my car after leaving, I cried. I cried because it has hurt so bad for so long and now it doesn’t. Now I have the tools to get better. I will be diligent. I hope it works. But right at this moment….I can walk. I can work. I can take my dog for a walk. That alone makes me cry. I am so pleased and even more thankful. You have more than made my day. You have made my dog very happy. Thank you. See you in four weeks.
When weather permits, I can walk one to two miles at a time with no pain!
After 40 years of constant pain (from a car accident) you were able to fix my problem; and everyday I think of you. When weather permits I can walk one to two miles at a time with no pain. I am 76 years old now and love to walk in our beautiful town, thanks to you. I thought you might want to know how your old patients are doing and this one is very happy. Thank you!
I will never seek another Foot Doctor
I have seen a lot of doctors over the last few years and have not come across a clinic with a staff like yours, where you can tell the employees really care and are concerned for the patients well-being. You have been a fabulous doctor and very knowledgeable with my in and out of office foot care. You have also been there when I had unexpected situations happen. I will never seek another Foot Doctor! Thanks for all the wonderful service over the last 4 years.

I would recommend Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle to anyone.
I would like to say a few words about Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle. I have been a patient there for a while, including a surgery and hospital stay. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. Dr. Gerber and his staff are the best. As a doctor and surgeon, I have been very happy with Dr. Gerber, and would also like to say that he is a very good man! I would recommend Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle to anyone.
I was new to the area and had no idea how to find a good podiatrist.
I was new to the area and had no idea how to find a good podiatrist; Google listed more than a dozen. I read reviews like the one you are reading now and gave Southern OR Foot and Ankle a chance. Their website includes impressive resumes and bios for Drs. Merrill and Gerber and the entire staff.
Call them and see if you don’t like the tone of the receptionist’s voice.
And finally, I volunteer with the Northwest Seasonal Workers Association in Medford. Dr. Merrill has generously donated services to our members in the past. I applaud and appreciate his community involvement.

I was able to enjoy our trip to Kauai, Hawaii.
Just wanted to say thanks for taking such good care of me (my foot) and helping it heal so that I was able to enjoy our trip to Kauai, Hawaii. It was beautiful and we had a great time. This is just one of the many places we visited. The views were amazing. Just thought I’d share with your office.
After using the orthotics for less than a week the pain in my left heel completely disappeared.
I wanted to thank Dr. Evan C. Merrill and his very friendly staff for everything they have done to assist me with reaching my fitness goals over the past few years. I started an intense exercise regimen at Southern Oregon Adventure Boot Camp for women in 2008, which then encouraged me to start running. I ran my first marathon in Portland in 2010 and was hooked. I then ran again in Eugene, Oregon, in which I qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3 hours, 38 minutes. My running partner wanted to qualify for Boston and after little rest from Eugene, I trained hard for San Francisco which was only two months later. With the short time frame between the Eugene and San Francisco marathons and the back to back long runs, I developed plantar fasciitis, which gave me extreme pain in the heel and arch of my left foot. On a short 14 mile training run before the San Francisco marathon I could barely walk and had to take a cab to a nearby restaurant. I knew I could not decline from running the Boston Marathon as I knew I may never qualify again in my life. I contacted Dr. Merrill’s office to see what they could do for plantar fasciitis. At my appointment my feet were fitted with a mold to make orthotics for my running shoes. After using the orthotics for less than a week the pain in my left heel completely disappeared. I was so relieved and knew that I COULD run the Boston Marathon. I just finished the Boston Marathon on April 16thand had no pain the entire race. I have always been one to go to the doctor to continue my fitness goals, not to have an excuse to stop, and Dr. Merrill and his staff played a large part of my continued ability to succeed and reach my goals.
